Çetin Taner made the remarks on Tuesday in a meeting in Tabriz with senior officials and staff of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences.
The diplomat said that improved health tourism cooperation between Iran and Turkey will depend on offering more competitive services.
Taner also called for increased cooperation on research, educational, scientific, medical and health projects between Turkish and Iranian medical universities.
He insisted that cooperation between Iran and Turkey could positively affect the scientific development in the region.
The official said that nearly 200 Turkish students have travelled to Iran since 2019 for studying in Iranian universities, adding that those students could serve as a bridge for communication between the two countries after they are graduated.
During the meeting, the dean of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences referred to scientific agreements already signed between Iran and Turkey as he called for a swift implementation of those deals.
Bahman Naqipour expressed hope that the two neighboring countries could sign a series of new deals to further boost their scientific cooperation.
The Tabriz University of Medical Sciences is among the top universities in Iran. It offers courses in 200 fields of study to nearly 9,700 students, including 190 students from other countries.
